Dean Park Primary is a thriving non-denominational Primary School which serves the village of Balerno, in the South West of Edinburgh. The main school is currently organised into 18 classes of P1-P7, and our nursery offers full-time spaces for up to 88 children.
At Dean Park, we pride ourselves on our nurturing, positive and inclusive ethos, and our team of dedicated staff strive to ensure equality of education, equity for our families and the opportunity for every child to flourish. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Early Years Practitioner to join our supportive staff team. The successful applicant must be SSSC or eligible for SSSC registration.
Dean Park Nursery is ideally situated to take advantage of the natural resources for outdoor learning offered by our grounds, the Pentlands National Park, Malleny Wood and the Water of Leith. We enjoy excellent links with the other educational providers in our community and work closely with each setting.

As part of our goal to improve our organisational culture and create a great place to work together for the people of Edinburgh, we want to make sure that we’re bringing the best people into our roles, not just in their skills and experience but also in their approach to work.
To help achieve this, we’re changing the way we interview and assess candidates by moving from a competency-based interview approach to a behavioural and technical (skills for the job) based approach. This new way of interviewing will allow us to assess how you think and how you would bring Our Behaviours of Respect, Integrity and Flexibility into your ways of working.
Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
