Axcis Education is working with an amazing SEN School in Teignbridge who are looking for a EYFS SEN Teacher to start work at the beginning of January 2022 on a long term basis that could lead to a permanent role. This school specialise in the education and care for pupils between the ages of 5 and 16 who have complex ASD and PMLD. The school is set a rural environment where they operate a culture of focus on outdoor learning with a nurturing and holistic approach. The school is currently on a very exciting journey driven by the recent addition of becoming part of a specialist MAT. This EYFS Teacher position will teach a variable timetable to foundation and reception age pupils You will be required to plan and deliver lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities. Responsibilities include: • Planning lessons • Leading a class and providing much needed stability • Supporting teaching assistants • Assessing and recording students' progress, preparing reports and taking part in parental consultations • Undergoing in-service training where required • Observing and implementing current school policies and good practice • Contributing to pupil progress across the whole school The ideal candidate will have • A flexible and resourceful approach to teaching • Experienced in teaching complex needs Early Years pupils. • You will be able to demonstrate positive reinforcement • Recognised teaching qualification PGCE or equivalent (QTS). • The ability to quickly build positive relationships with both staff and students. • A minimum of 12 months of teaching experience • Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa) • Enhanced DBS/Police checks The role will start in January 2022 but could start earlier if the right candidate is available. Working hours are 8.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday. The school is based in a semi rural location in Teignbridge, 30 minutes form Exeter and Torbay. This is a great opportunity to join a leading SEN MAT that specialise in providing education support for children and young people that have additional needs. The school is easily accessible via local public transport links and staff retention is excellent due to their welcoming atmosphere. This is a full-time temporary role starting with immediate effect on an ongoing basis. There is the opportunity for this role to develop into a permanent position.
