Form of workOur client is a leading provider of GIS and document capture services in Ireland. They work with organisations to help them visualise and analyse data as well as develop software products that support critical business operations. They are now seeking an Earth Observation Analyst to join their EO team in Ireland.This is a remote role but must be based onshore in Ireland.As an Earth Observation Analyst, you will assist with the ongoing Earth Observation projects with regard to model development and automation of Earth Observation workflows.Skills and ExperienceUniversity degree or equivalent in GIS, Remote Sensing, Geomatics, or closely related fieldsAt least 2 years of industry experience with Earth Observation data handling using common EO Python libraries such as GDAL, Pandas and Geo-Pandas librariesAdvanced knowledge of optical and radar data processing techniquesExperience with AI and ML model development and applicationKnowledge and experience with cloud-based EO tools such as DIAS or Google Earth Engine (GEE)Experience with automation and time-Series analysis.Experience working with Linux Operating System and basic Bash ScriptingGood English Proficiency The following Knowledge/Experience would be an advantage:Knowledge of EO technologies and their application in an agricultural or land-use contextExperience using the following software packages, tools and utilities: ESA’s SNAP Toolbox, Snappy and Graph Processing Tool (GPT) Version control System, eCognition and FME workbenches Benefits22 Days annual leave increasing to 23 DaysAdditional Annual Leave Purchase SchemeFlexible working policyEnhanced Maternity & PaternityAccess to Employee Assistance Programme PlatformAccess to Health & Wellness platform including Digital Gym, Nutrition Guides, Health & wellbeing tutorialsEAP programme which provides employees and their partners with access to a range of services including counsellingEnrolment in the Company Health insurance scheme which covers optical, dental, physiotherapy etc.Continuous Professional Development Programme.
