ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OFFICER 

£30,296 - £33,945

Rugby is one of the fastest growing towns in the country and we are in the process of planning for more and we are looking to recruit an exceptional and dynamic Economic Development Officer to assist with our growth and regeneration agenda.

Located in the county of Warwickshire, near the cities of Coventry and Leicester, with direct rail links to London and Birmingham and within “the golden triangle” of the strategic road network, Rugby’s accessibility is one of the key attributes making it a great place to live and work.

Rugby has impressive development and regeneration opportunities which will help create high-quality jobs and ensure economic prosperity. The Council has been awarded £3 million from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund which is being used to catalyse further development and investment with major regeneration plans for the town centre in active development.  These are exciting times for Rugby.

The post holder will work with the Senior Economic Development officer to engage with local businesses and work in partnership with a range of organisations to ensure that we have the best possible business support collaboration to nurture and develop our businesses. We want to attract high quality jobs to Rugby ensuring that our residents have the skills to take advantage of these opportunities. 
 
The post will suit a recent graduate or with some experience and ambition to make an impact.  You will need to have a relevant degree or equivalent qualification, a keen interest and/or experience of Economic Development and possess good communication skills and an aptitude for partnership working. Excellent IT skills are required along with a sound understanding of all relevant software packages. A driving license and access to a car for business use is essential.
