Pride Veterinary Referrals - Derby
This position is a three-year (subject to satisfactory annual review), fixed-term contract, full-time position starting July 2024

We are excited to offer a position for an ECVS-accredited Standard Residency Programme at Pride Veterinary Centre.
The successful candidate will have a high level of motivation and enthusiasm, and be able to work as an integral part of our experienced team. Applicants must have completed a rotating internship or internship equivalent (at least 2 years of clinical experience) and demonstrate an interest in clinical research. They must have MRCVS registration and have evidence of Right to Work in the UK. A good command of written and spoken English is required.
Pride Veterinary Referrals is a teaching hospital, working in collaboration with the University of Nottingham Veterinary School. The hospital is located in Pride Park, within close proximity to Derby City Centre, Nottingham and the Derbyshire Dales, and has good air and rail links.
The hospital has thirteen consultation rooms, six inpatient wards - including a dedicated intensive care unit, five fully equipped theatres, a 16-slice CT scanner, a 1.5 Tesla MRI, arthroscopy, fluoroscopy, laparoscopic and thoracoscopic equipment, BioMedtrix hip kit, and standard and locking plate systems.
The successful candidate will join a team of four specialist surgeons and one experienced residency-trained surgeon, two other surgical residents (year 2 and 3), three surgical interns and a dedicated nursing team. There will be twelve weeks per year off clinics for externships, research and study leave.
The hospital benefits from specialist-led teams in Surgery, Medicine, Neurology, Diagnostic Imaging, Ophthalmology, Anaesthesia and an on-site Physiotherapy-Hydrotherapy department. The friendly teams collaborate to deliver the highest standards of care to all our patients. We have a varied and challenging Soft Tissue and Orthopaedic caseload, as well as our own Vets@Night service for inpatient care throughout the night.
