We have fantastic opportunity to join a fantastic charity based in the heart of Stoke on Trent. Our client provides free counselling and support services to anyone from the age of 4, who has been affected by Sexual Violence and abuse in Stoke on Trent. They offer a comprehensive, trauma informed range of services tailored to meet the needs of survivors, including; BACP accredited counselling, Independent Sexual Violence Advisor Service, Dedicated Youth Support Practitioners and CPD accredited specalist training.
A Stoke-on-Trent based charity is seeking a Community Engagement Coordinator to help promote and improve the support offered to women and young girls in marginalized and minoritised communities who have survived domestic abuse and sexual violence.
The role offers flexible part-time hours and pay of £20,000 per annum and is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual to make a positive impact on women’s lives and help to raise awareness and reduce barriers to accessing support.
As the EDI Community EngagementSupport Officer you will be responsible for:
Developing, monitoring and reviewing the charity’s outreach programme as well as promoting and raising awareness of sexual violence in underrepresented communities.
- Providing advice, guidance and support on equality, diversity and inclusion issues.
- Liaising with community groups and other organisations including the police, local councils and NHS trusts.
- Collating, analysing and preparing reports on EDI metrics and providing recommendations.
- Preparing and delivering presentations and workshops to clients, staff, stakeholders and partner organsations.
- Participating in personal development and training opportunities where possible to stay up to date with safeguarding and anti-discriminatory legislation changes.
Skills & Experience Required for this position:
- Effective communicator with excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Able to build rapport quickly and long-lasting relationships.
- Familiarity and ability to operate with the principles and procedures of equal opportunities and safeguarding.
- Previous experience working with victims of domestic violence or sexual abuse would be an advantage, as would providing advice on housing and welfare benefits.
- Hold a UK driving licence and own vehicle.
You will be working 28 hours per week from their offices based in the City Centre with regular outreach in the community of North Staffordshire. (Flexibility is required but working days will be discussed and agreed during the interview).
Appointment will be subject to Enhanced DBS, right to work checks and satisfactory references.
