Job summary
The Education Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient coordination and management of all undergraduate and postgraduate programmes run within the National Heart and Lung Institute. This is an important role within our senior administration and will join a supportive and dedicated team. The post holder will be expected to work closely with the Institute management and education leads, manage the education support team (12 staff) and contribute to the development of new initiatives and strategic planning.
We are looking for someone committed to achieving the best possible support for our education programmes and students. You will possess excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and a high level of accuracy in your work. You will have the ability to juggle a varied workload and show great initiative and problem solving capability.
Duties and responsibilities
- Manage the education team in the development and delivery of all undergraduate and postgraduate programmes taught within the Institute.
- Oversee the provision of support to postgraduate research students.
- Provide management information as required for planning purposes.
- Support academic staff in developing proposals and robust business cases for new programmes and educational initiatives.
- Have a broad and detailed knowledge of College policy and procedures for managing postgraduate taught courses and postgraduate research students and ensure they are implemented.
- Contribute to communication and marketing activities for all programmes.
- Ensure the Institute undertakes appropriate quality monitoring processes and course review systems at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Essential requirements
- Degree or equivalent experience
- Experience of relevant higher education administration, particularly in teaching and learning support
- Experience of staff management, team building, motivation and development
- Ability to develop and produce management information for budgeting and planning purposes
- Sound understanding of relevant student regulations and procedures, and ability to interpret and communicate them to staff and students
- Excellent analytical and problem solving ability
- Excellent communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to exercise initiative and use sound judgement
- High degree of tact and diplomacy

This is a Fulltime, Open-Ended role based atRoyal Brompton and Hammersmith (East Acton) campus with travel to other College sites as required.
