The work of the GFTUET is fundamental to our purpose as a federation. We aim to support the trade union activists and leaders of today, whilst identifying and developing the activists and leaders of tomorrow.
Working as part of a team, you will lead the day-to-day management of our incredible education programme, including the recruitment and retention of students, reporting, analysing, assessment, of the impact, effectiveness, and success of the education programme, tracking development of students across our programme outcomes, and the recruitment & induction of tutors.
This role will require reporting to our educational trustees, national executive of our federation and other key stakeholders like education officers from other affiliates. You will be expected to work closely with our fundraising team to evidence the impact of our programme in generating revenue for the educational trust.
You will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding and experience of trade unions, industrial relations, activists' development, and demonstrate experience as a lay union workplace rep/branch officer or an equivalent paid union staff role. You will have a keen interest in trade unions and labour relations theory and be interested in keeping up to date emerging trends in union education in our movement and beyond.
Part of your role will include an oversight of assessment, end point assessment of a Trade Union Officials Apprenticeship, accreditation and the internal quality assurance to ensure accreditation and achievement of learning qualifications is successful, line management of our education administrator, and therefore line management experience or project management will be expected, alongside an ability to tutor courses.
