Job description

HMP Bronzefield are currently recruiting for an Education Manager.The Learning and Skills Department sits at the very heart of HMP Bronzefield – providing purposeful activity for all Residents. The role of Education Manager will demonstrate a clear and decisive leadership to lead, manage and co-ordinate the delivery of quality learning and skills services and to be responsible for the staff employed within the education and industries department to ensure a needs led service is offered efficiently and effectively. In this role you will lead the department to raise standards, implement the education curriculum and drive engagement in education, skills and work interventions. You will collaborate across departments and partnership agencies, assuring quality and driving continuous improvement.Take on the role of lead IQA for all qualifications offered within the prisonWe house up to 572 women (approximately 14.5% of the national female prison population). The women in our custody have a diverse and complex set of needs and range from mothers and babies, young offenders, life and long term sentenced women, short to mid-term sentenced women, foreign nationals and women on remand. HMP/YOI Bronzefield is a closed local prison serving courts across the South of England. Our mission is to deliver quality of life services which make a meaningful difference to women in the criminal justice system by supporting them to change their lives for the better. We deliver the total operation of five prisons within the UK and own six Community Rehabilitation Companies in partnership with crime reduction charity Nacro.Main ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the Education, Workshops, Library Team and Neurodiversity TeamManage the recruitment and selection process for the Team.Create a dynamic culture of innovation and outstanding learning, teaching and student successLiaise and work closely with all prison staff and other key stakeholders to ensure a coherent and successful delivery of the learning and skills serviceSupport the training and development of staff, maintaining accurate CPD logsDevelop a curriculum that meets the needs of learners, responding to national, regional and local priorities and reflecting the needs of employersEnsure that students receive the highest standards of teaching, learning and supportLead and manage the curriculum development, innovation and organization across the departmentEmbed quality across the provision in line with HMCIP/Ofsted expectations and policies and proceduresBe responsible for the collection and transfer of qualitative and quantitative data related to learners and contract compliance.. Produce monthly analysis of the data and present it at the QIG, focusing on student success through high retention and achievement ratesLine Manage the Neurodiversity Team Leader/SENCo with a clear policy and referral route, maximizing available support for learnersThe Ideal CandidateFull Teaching qualification – DET or PGCESenior Leadership role within an Educational setting IQA qualification/Verifier Award or a willingness to trainExperience of developing, leading and managing a team effectively in a challenging environmentCurriculum Development experience Knowledge of the needs of offenders and current initiatives relating to offenders concerning skills and employmentThe ability to monitor, manage and report on service delivery within a contractual frameworkTo be able to collect and use data to make effective management decisionsA strong and consistent moral compass and the ability to provide value based leadership (consistent demonstration of Sodexo values).Has a concern for prisoner care that reflects Sodexo values and principlesDemonstrate a commitment to personal development and the development of othersDisplay and energy and drive to work proactively and effectively in a busy environmentFor more information on Sodexo Careers please visit Sodexo Careers  Package DescriptionWorking with Sodexo is more than a job; it’s a chance to be part of something greater.
