Education Quality Analyst.
Our Education Quality Analysts are at the heart of our work in assuring the quality of medical education and training in the UK. Our teams work with organisations that are responsible for developing postgraduate curricula and assessments such as medical royal colleges and faculties. We also work with the organisations that teach and support medical students and doctors in training, and other education providers such as hospitals, general practices and health boards/trusts to assess the quality of undergraduate/postgraduate education and training.
This could include conducting virtual or in-person visits to universities wishing to set up a medical school in the UK and medical schools delivering medical education overseas. Each visit will require thorough preparation to understand what needs to be investigated, the confidence to probe and question, an ability to take detailed notes and the written skills to compile accurate, evidence-based reports.
What are we looking for:
We’re looking for two permanent & two 12-month fixed term contracts to join our Quality Assurance- Monitoring and Improvement team as Education Quality Analysts, these positions have a mixture of locations including both our London & Manchester offices with hybrid working and flexible working options available.
The right candidate will:
- Be self-motivated with the ability to work constructively with colleagues and our external partners, and the flexibility to respond to changing priorities against deadlines
- Have good problem-solving skills and knowledge of IT systems, in particular MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Have the ability to gather and analyse information, make judgements on this evidence, and then provide feedback in a clear, legible way
- Possess strong analytical skills and can review sometimes large volumes of information, and who have the written skills to provide clear rationale for decisions
- Deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
Summary of the role responsibilities:
- Managing Education Quality assurance reviews of organisations that manage undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and training in the UK and internationally
- Representing the GMC to external partners in assigned regions of the UK, ensuring open communication about our quality assurance. This includes taking ownership of all education QA activity taking place in the region
- Working with colleagues to analyse and assess risk and potential good practice to identify areas of focus for our quality assurance work
- Prepare education evidence reports for a range of purposes both internal and external, including regional quality surveillance groups, risk summits and the Care Quality Commission
- Analysis of evidence about the quality of education
