Job Title: Assistant Headteacher - Quality of Education
Location: Uxbridge and Isleworth - Hybrid site location
Salary: £55,000 per annum
Hours: 38.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent; Term time only

We currently have an exciting opportunity to appoint an Assistant Headteacher - Quality of Education at our site Syon Manor College.
We are looking to welcome an Assistant Headteacher who will have the tenacity to turn ideas into reality. You should therefore have demonstratable experience in improving the Quality of provision in an area you have led, in either a middle or senior leadership role, along with a desire and determination to improve the educational experience of all students.
About the Role
The primary objective for the successful candidate is to ensure the College sites deliver a high-quality educational service tailored to autistic young adults/students, aligning with Company policies, procedures, and practices, and adhering to the standards established by the Regulatory Body. Collaboration with the Head of College, senior leadership team, and other stakeholders is essential to ensure elevated standards across the College. The incumbent will assume responsibility for overseeing diverse curriculums, namely BTEC, AQA, NCFE, City and Guilds, and ASDAN.
A crucial facet of this role is the possession of detailed knowledge pertaining to the Preparation for Adulthood Framework. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate proficiency in supporting Young Adults with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) in navigating the transition into employment and accessing diverse job opportunities.
Experience
- Relevant experience in the specialist area of service i.e. relevant experience of
- working with young people/young adults with Autistic spectrum disorders and/or challenging behaviours
- Experience of Estyn / Ofsted procedures / inspections
- Experience of managing staff
- Managing budgets effectively and ensuring cost efficiency
- Experience of working with parents and carers, outside agencies, to secure achievement, enrichment opportunities and resources for pupils
- Experience of delivering training for others
- Working with Exam and other Regulatory bodies for student accreditation
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills
- Nationally recognised degree
- Willingness to work towards other relevant qualifications as required - NPQSL
- Undertake relevant group induction training on commencement
- Recent, relevant in-service training - particularly in relation to teaching and learning and assessment and in relation to leadership and management

Syon Manor College is a new post-16 provision for young people with autism and complex needs. The college will offer a broad curriculum of academic, vocational and life skills learning including BTECs, GCSEs, Functional Skills and ASDAN accreditations which will work towards Employability or Independence and Duke of Edinburgh qualifications.
