Salary: £6,502.08 - £9,346.74 p.a. (£10.42 per hour equivalent)
Our client is a new & expanding Alternative Education Provision, serving primary & secondary-aged pupils with EHCPs relating to SEMH based in Weston Super Mare, Clevedon and Banwell as well as future sites across the South West. They operate a ‘revolving-door’ offering whereby students stay at the provision for up to 18 weeks, either on a full-time or part-time 'transition' basis before returning to a mainstream education setting or attending a special school.
We are seeking someone with previous experience of having worked with children, or other relevant interactions and who is available to offer transport services from a childs' home to the learning sites and also between the sites. Whilst this is a role to provide transport to learners and not directly supporting their education, the ideal person must be able to act as a positive role model.
We're looking for someone who willing, able and confident to drive the company vehicles which is an MPV / people-carrier. It's not expected that you would be using your own vehicle. You must be flexibly available during the hours of 9:30am - 3:30pm for 16 - 23 hours per week however the hours of work are negotiable. You will be working with children that have additional needs and may have experienced trauma or other adverse childhood experiences, therefore, as a person we're seeking someone, calm, patient and empathetic.
Essential criteria:
- Full, clean driving licence
- Minimum 25 years old (for insurance reasons)
- Willingness to undergo Safeguarding & Prevent training
Desirable criteria:
- Additional driver training (MIDAS trained, Advanced Driving Training, ROSPA driver training)
The role is offered on a 1-year fixed-term contract basis until the end of the academic year (23/07/2024) with the intention to offer a permanent contract from September 2024, pending funding review.
