As part of the General Medical Council’s (GMC) work, the Quality Assurance – Monitoring and Improvement (QAMI) team regulate all stages of medical education and training. Our associates provide expert input and help us to make judgements about how organisations, that deliver medical education and training, meet our standards. Student associates play an important role in bringing the student perspective to our quality assurance activities.
Applicants must, at the point of application, be one of the following:
- A medical student currently in year 2 or 3 at any UK medical school.
- A medical student who has completed year 1 at any UK medical school and is entering into year 2 in summer 2024.
The role of an Education Visitor – Student associate is varied however, it is likely that those successful will be involved in a range of our quality assurance activities. Involvement could include observations and visits to new and established medical schools, interviews with students, and analysis of various sources of information. Associates help the QAMI team to reach conclusions about the quality of medical education.
We offer a daily fee of £325. We will also cover reasonable expenses.
