Your new role
Southend City Council have a great opportunity for a forward-thinking, driven and compassionate individual to join the Educational Psychologist team who are committed to providing a first-class service to children and families with SEND. This post will allow the successful individual to deliver an integrated service within Southend's Education, Inclusion and Early Years Directorate, promoting inclusive practice in relation to all children and young people, advocating for positive mental health and wellbeing.Through statutory assessments and preventative strategies, including providing a range of assessments, training key adults, group work and multi-agency support, we aim to support children and young people to meet their academic and strong social development, enabling them to be the best they can be.Through the delivery of advice, support, guidance and training to children and young people, their families and educational settings, the service will continue to maximise levels of educational attainment, educational achievement and personal development, thereby supporting our most vulnerable learners to live their best lives.

What you'll need to succeed
Candidates must hold a professional post graduate qualification in Educational Psychology or equivalent recognised by the British Psychological Society and active registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Eligibility for Chartered Status and Associate Fellowship of the BPS. This role requires an enhanced DBS check.The council would welcome applications from trainee Educational Psychologists who are in their final year of training.
