SSCL Defence are on the lookout for an experienced Applications Developer to join their expanding Interfaces Team.
As our new Application Developer will join a growing team that predominately support change Projects involving the implementation of client enhancements as well as software product upgrades. This will involve performing the various activities associated with defining, developing, documenting and implementing software changes/ In addition, you will perform operational support and maintenance for existing systems and COTS products, such as diagnosing and resolving problems.
This is a Hybrid role, where you could be based anywhere in the UK, there will be occasional travel to one of the SSCL sites
What you'll be doing:
- Support Change requests by participating in the business/systems requirements process, estimating effort, coding/configuring, testing, test plan preparation, testing validation, program debugging, defect remediation, implementation, and coordination of program releases
- Create solutions that meet user requirements, and enhance productivity and effectiveness of systems
- Ensure quality, coding, and installation standards are followed in area of responsibility
- Execute unit tests and documents outcomes
- Analyse and manage resolution of Incidents and one-off data fixes and resolves technical issues
- Make the required software changes or data fixes and ensures they are robustly documented
What you’ll bring:
- Experience in one or more of the following: C# VB.NET, ASP.NET PL/SQL
- Good understanding of the project technical lifecycle model
- Strong written communications, and ability to write technical reports, design documents and project processes
- Strong verbal communications and ability to confidently liaise at all levels
It would be great if you had:
- Experience of Oracle and Windows
- Experience of Cloud technologies
- SC Clearance - Active or eligible to obtain
