Job Description
Soulbury A - £42422- ££56540pa plus £2372 Outer London Allowance, plus up to 3 SPA points (previously awarded SPAs will be honoured)

(Please note we are currently reviewing our pay scales in light of the Soulbury Pay Offer and the increase in available salary ranges for maingrade EPs. We expect it to be updated for September 2024. Please speak to the Principal EP for further details.)

About the Job

This is an exciting time to be joining Havering Educational Psychology Service (EPS), a thriving, fully-staffed EP team who are expanding (again!) having secured additional funding to expand our project work and early intervention work with schools while maintaining statutory services.

Havering EPS sits within the wider SEND Service, offering EPs the chance to work closely with Advisory Teachers, Occupational Therapists, Havering's 0 - 5 Team, among many others, bringing to this multi-professional service their distinct psychological contribution.

We are seeking applications from qualified Educational Psychologists or Trainee Educational Psychologists in their final year of training. We want to hear from those who are looking to join a dynamic, inter-disciplinary and child-centred service, who are committed to applying psychology to make a difference for children, young people and families in Havering, and to anti-discriminatory including anti-racist practice, including through the service’s contribution to the development of DECP’s Self-Assessment Framework for Promoting Racial Equality in EP Services.

Havering EPs have protected time to support schools, colleges and special provisions through training, consultation, organisational change and policy work, as well as for targeted early intervention work, in addition to undertaking statutory work. As well as supporting their own 'patch' of schools and settings, delivering services free at the point of delivery, all EPs have the opportunity to develop specialisms, lead projects, explore their passions, and contribute to the design and delivery of a wide and expanding SEND Training Offer.

Working within Havering’s CAD Service will offer:

  • An excellent induction package
  • Dedicated business support (e.g., you simply save your reports in your out tray)
  • Regular supervision (individual professional supervision; group practice supervision)
  • Protected CPD time
  • The chance to be part of a supportive, vibrant, talented team of close to twenty Senior, Maingrade, Trainee and Assistant EPs
  • Excellent links with training providers, with Academic & Professionals Tutors at two universities among the staff team, as well as Fieldwork Tutors hosting Year 1 TEPs
  • The opportunity to work in Mainstream, Special Schools, Additionally Resourced Provisions (ARPs) and Residential Schools
  • An excellent balance between home/flexible working arrangements and time together as a team to create, collaborate and develop a sense of belonging
  • Easily accessible workspaces
  • Excellent transport links to inner and outer London including via the Elizabeth Line, as well as to Essex, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas
  • High quality IT equipment and responsive IT support

The service has scope to make multiple appointments for the right candidates and is keen to hear from applicants seeking either full or part time positions. There is flexibility on start dates.

An enhanced DBS check is required for this post.

The closing date for the receipt of applications is 1st April 2024 , however we are keen to interview interested applicants as soon as possible.

Should you require any help or advice with your online application, please contact the Recruitment Helpdesk on 01708 432770.
