Smart Education, in partnership with an esteemed Secondary SEMH School, is currently recruiting for a Part-Time EHCP Coordinator and SENCO with a relevant UK-based NASENCO qualification. This unique opportunity allows for flexibility in working arrangements, making it an ideal fit for experienced professionals seeking part-time roles.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • NASENCO Qualification: A relevant UK-based NASENCO qualification is a mandatory requirement.
  • Educational Background: Substantial experience working within an education setting, particularly with students facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
  • Safer Recruitment Documents: All necessary documents for safer recruitment processing, including a valid right to work proof and a valid Enhanced DBS check.
  • Exceptional References: Proven track record of exceptional references, attesting to your skills, dedication, and effectiveness in supporting students in a Secondary SEMH School environment.

Responsibilities:

  • EHCP Coordination: Oversee the identification, development, and coordination of EHCPs for secondary school students with SEMH needs.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to develop and review EHCPs, ensuring they accurately reflect the needs of students.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to staff to enhance their ability to implement strategies outlined in EHCPs and address the diverse needs of students with SEMH challenges.
  • Monitoring Progress: Regularly monitor the progress of students with EHCPs, adjusting support strategies as needed, and communicate progress to relevant stakeholders.
  • Legal Compliance: Ensure the school's compliance with legal requirements related to special education, EHCPs, and other relevant legislation.
  • Advocacy: Advocate for the rights and needs of students with SEMH challenges within the school and liaise with external agencies and local authorities as necessary.

Working Hours:

  • Part-Time: 20 hours per week.
  • Flexible working arrangements: The school is open to discussing where and when the 20 hours are worked.
