As EHS Engineering Safety Design Manager, you will be part of the EHS Organization and your role will be to support engineers from product development and delivery in a global environment. The function’s mission is to be completely integrated in product development, supervising for the EHS matter all our design team , with a focus on the compliance related to product safety.
Responsibilities:
Support the design team on create safety systems for all employees to follow when operating and installing our equipment to prevent all injuries.
Maintain and enforce all safety and health policies per countries where we design and install our equipment’s.
Coordinate with safety personnel at the region level to understand and establish a company standard.
Relay information between management, outside safety agencies and employees, communicating vital information and instructions quickly and accurately.
Understand regulatory changes, trends and forecast business impacts could impact our products.
Plan and lead safety workshops with designers and installation/testing personnel ensure an understanding between the product design and the installation/operating reality.
Lead/ Support root cause investigations and implementation of preventive measures for accident resulting Product defect or associated.
Lead and ensure ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certification, where relevant for engineering department.
On this transversal role, you will be a high contributor on developing of EHS Culture and competency at all levels in the Product Delivery groups organization, by developing Material/training for Engineer to transfer the Safety Design approach inside their DNA.
Ensure proper consideration of EHS aspects in key areas of Management of Change (MOC): New Product Introduction (NPI) – Engineering Changes – Organizational Changes.
Support the Product Delivery groups organization with Technical EHS knowledge.
Improve existing EHS programs through simplification and align with VERNOVA programs, regulatory requirements.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Safety engineer or similar with Electrical Engineering degree in Process Engineering or equivalent
Prove work experience in similar role as EHS Product Safety Design
Practical experience in risk elimination, Strong acknowledge on directive machine, CE documentation, risk assessment. HAZOP , FMEA…
Strong presentation skills for developing and delivering training to elevate knowledge, skills and behaviours at multiple levels of the organization.
Dealing with high level of ambiguity using coaching skills
Fluent English ( German and/or French would be a plus)
Desired characteristic:
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple issues with competing priorities.
Proven process understanding of design safety and legal safety demands in the engineering environment or similar.
Lead auditor ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001
Ability to travel 20-30% of the time.
