Job Description
- To operate in line with all H&S standards. Embrace and contribute to the ISRS safety programme
- To support and maintain all site LV infrastructure
- To support engineering capital and revenue projects (particularly electrical and automation) in all areas of manufacturing plant and to improve efficiency and electrical /mechanical safety across all sites, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and in budget
- To support for site infrastructure maintenance and development plans (planned and unplanned improvement works)
- To provide detailed technical support and specification (including troubleshooting) for automation/PLC related projects
- To maintain and advance kiln, dyer and calcine process instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, humidity and other monitoring devices
- To support how process instruments can provide better data and data monitoring to make processes more efficient and energy saving using SCADA systems
- To strategically support and maintain process data systems, including SCADA systems and digital recorders
- To support energy reduction CAPEX investment activity from project feasibility studies & proposal development through to installation and post investment appraisal
- To offer strategic H&S, engineering/maintenance support where required.
- To ensure full Electrical compliance at all times
- To provide technical support to ensure efficiency in process
- To drive, deliver and monitor Electrical & Energy Related capital projects
- To undertake Energy Consumption Monitoring
- Sufficient competency and experience to fulfil their requirements as identified in the 'Management of Engineering Asset Integrity Policy Document'
- DSEAR trained & COMPEX approved engineer
- Functional Safety awareness and annual proof testing
- To take part in training programmes relevant to the role
The Successful Applicant
A successful Electrical Controls Technician should have:
- Experience in industrial instrumentation engineering in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with AutoCAD and PLC's and SCADA systems.
- CDM Regulations.
- IOSH Managing Safely.
- Electricity at Work 1989.
- PUWER 1998.
- Duty Holders.
- Previous experience of being apprentice trained would be desirable, or equivalent to EITB in both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
- National Certificate in Electrical Engineering.
- Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- 18th Edition BS7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations.
