Job Description:
Position Overview: As a 132kV Design Engineer at our client, you will play a pivotal role in the planning and design of high-voltage electrical systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions, ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Planning: Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to design 132kV electrical systems, including substations, transmission lines, and related infrastructure.
- Technical Expertise: Utilise your expertise in 132kV electrical systems to ensure designs adhere to industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
- Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of proposed projects, considering technical, economic, and environmental factors.
- Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates and project budgets for 132kV infrastructure projects.
- Project Management: Oversee the execution of design projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity and reliability of electrical systems.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise project disruptions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records, including design drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with industry regulations and standards, and ensure that all designs and projects comply with applicable codes.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, project managers, and technicians, to achieve project goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licence is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in designing and planning 132kV electrical systems, including substations and transmission lines.
- Proficiency in relevant design software and tools.
- Strong knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Project management experience is an advantage.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
