Job Description:

Position Overview: As a 132kV Design Engineer at our client, you will play a pivotal role in the planning and design of high-voltage electrical systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions, ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and Planning: Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to design 132kV electrical systems, including substations, transmission lines, and related infrastructure.
2. Technical Expertise: Utilise your expertise in 132kV electrical systems to ensure designs adhere to industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
3. Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of proposed projects, considering technical, economic, and environmental factors.
4. Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates and project budgets for 132kV infrastructure projects.
5. Project Management: Oversee the execution of design projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
6. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity and reliability of electrical systems.
7. Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise project disruptions.
8. Documentation: Maintain accurate records, including design drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
9. Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with industry regulations and standards, and ensure that all designs and projects comply with applicable codes.
10. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, project managers, and technicians, to achieve project goals.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
2. Professional Engineer (PE) licence is highly preferred.
3. Proven experience in designing and planning 132kV electrical systems, including substations and transmission lines.
4. Proficiency in relevant design software and tools.
5. Strong knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
6. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
7. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Project management experience is an advantage.
