Role:Design Engineer
Salary: GBP40,000 - GBP65,000

Our client is committed to providing value-added power engineering services to private network owners, embedded generation investors, and carbon-reducing organizations. We are seeking an innovative Design Engineer with experience in client-side HV projects to lead infrastructure and energy projects on our customer networks up to and including 132kV.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and oversee all aspects of design from outline to detail during the project life cycle, including design, planning, approval, construction, commissioning, and final handover
• Develop customer projects into detailed design packs to be delivered in accordance with current conditions, policies, and standards
• Adhere to ENWCML design standards and data integrity alongside our Bid and Design Team
• Collaborate with engineers to mentor and develop suppliers, procurement, commercial contracts, and costings
Skills and experience
• HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or equivalent) with a bias towards Power Engineering
• Good understanding of Low Voltage & High Voltage Electrical Principles and theory
• Knowledge of distribution network design, including volt drop calculations, earth loop impedance calculations, and protection
• Experience in plant specification, P&C, AISs/GISs, and 33/66/132kV substation layouts
• Familiarity with ETAP, Dig silent SafeGrid & Trimble Power, and other relevant electrical engineering design practices
• Understanding of Construction Design Management regulations and the construction industry, particularly related to electrical infrastructure projects
