Electrical Design Engineer

Astute’s Power team is partnering with a leading turnkey engineering contractor, designing, installing, operating and maintaining environmentally friendly energy generating systems and networks, to recruit a Electrical Designer for its London based office.

Responsibilities and duties

* Create detailed drawings for quotations
* Deliver projects to deadlines, within budget and health & safety standards
* Produce Bill of Materials in support of procurement and assembly processes
* Design wiring, testing and installation of electrical controls in adherence to national standards
* Manage installation and commissioning of industrial systems including switchboards, containment systems, SWA cabling, inspection and testing activities, ensuring seamless integration.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

* HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering
* 18th Edition Certification
* 3-5 years’ experience within a heavy industrial background

Personal skills

The Electrical Design Engineer role would suit someone who is:

* Experienced within the building services or data centres or district heating
* Problem solver with a proactive approach to finding effective solutions
* Experience of LV or HV systems
* Experience creating P&ID’s
* Strong design capabilities including panel building and wiring
