Job title: Electrical Design Manager- Refrigeration Team.
Location: Field based covering West / Bristol Office work 3 days p/w

We are advertising this Electrical Design Manager role on behalf of our client ‘CBES’. City were established in 1985 and the company has grown to become one of the world’s largest privately held, integrated FM companies.
Job Purpose:
- To manage the design development for tender documentation in line with the project requirements and manage the development of designs through project life cycle.
- To ensure the company and Client’s requirements are unbiased, robust and optimally designed; and to initiate and manage design reviews through allocation of suitably competent engineers.
Key Accountabilities:
- Attend site to ascertain the current power locations and sizes and discuss new scheme with Design Team.
- Directly provide specialist engineer/design advice as may be relevant or appropriate.
- Ensure that all design submissions have been properly reviewed.
- Provide detailed loadings and power requirements for the electrical consultants of all new submains required.
- Design all new LV distribution circuits based on all relevant factors i.e load, distance, grouping etc.
- Design computer network required for alarm monitoring of refrigeration equipment.
- Provide detailed design to client on all LV power cables required and computer network wiring required
- Provide detailed costs for materials and labour required for projects.
- Ensure all designs are to the current customer specification.
- Procure all materials for site and allocate labour for each project.
- Ensure labour is fully detailed of the works required.
- Ensure all works are carried out to a satisfactory standard and all relevant documentation is supplied.
- As required, develop any procedures to undertake the design functions outlined above.
Qualifications & Experience:
- City & Guilds Electrical Installation Certificate (2360) Parts 1 & 2
- Approved Electrician status.
- 18th Edition
- A City & Guilds Design, Erection and Verification of Electrical Installations (2391-20)
- In-depth knowledge of electrotechnical engineering and will have extensive experience gained managing the design process in a construction and engineering environment
