Electrician
Birmingham Based
40K per annum plus annual bonus
39 Hours - Monday - Friday (Flexible working)
Main Purposes of the Job:
- To carry out maintenance both pre-planned, remedial, and re-active works to the company's substantial Electrical infrastructure using company asset management software.
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and sustainability of company Electrical infrastructure.
- Identifying Electrical infrastructure assets for adding to asset register.
- To keep the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) up to date for the relevant Infrastructure
- To raise CMMS Help calls as required
Main Responsibilities of the role:
- Maximising company Electrical Infrastructure availability through good maintenance practices, assets such as but not limited to - LV, HV, Generators, emergency lighting, Fire Alarms, PAVA, UPS, general electric’s etc….
- Responding to issues with electrical infrastructure in a timely and practical manner.
- Responsible for ordering and maintaining stock levels required for the post
- To escort and supervise external contractors and assist in arranging their visits
- Familiarisation of new installations by third parties including consultation at design phase if required
- Able to read layout drawings
- Escalation/re-allocation of jobs to the appropriate owner if not an electrical issue
- Assisting other trades as required
- To support the promotion of a health and safety culture across the company.
- Contribute to the safe operation of assets, services, and systems.
Key Skills/Objectives:
- City and Guilds level 3 qualification in Electrical Installations
- 18th Edition IET regulations
- JIB Gold Card (Desirable)
- Experience of Public Address Voice Alarms and Fire Alarm systems (Desirable)
- To support the continuing operation of the company's Engineering and Infra-structure
- Great communication skills, both public and inter-departmental
- Ability to use Word, Excel and E-mail
- Must be able to work on own initiative as well as work within a team environment
- Willingness to receive training as deemed appropriate
- Keeping up to date on new technology/systems that could benefit the company's Operational and sustainability targets
