We are looking for the right candidate to join our team as an Electrician. This is a key role, in a team that is responsible for the maintenance and provision of street lighting, illuminated signs and other associated highway power supplies.
In this role, your day-to-day activities will involve maintaining and repairing, various street furniture, including lanterns, illuminated signs and bollards etc., as well as the commissioning and installation of lighting columns, signposts, pedestrian beacons along with other relevant fixtures and apparatus.
You will also be completing inspection and testing, and, where necessary, producing technical reports; driving vehicles, as well as completing daily vehicle checks and routine maintenance; and taking part in out of hour functions, such as call out or inspections.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone who can take the lead on site as needed, give instruction on electrical tasks and mentor junior members of the team. You should work well independently and communicate effectively and professionally with the public and the rest of the team.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified electrician and have knowledge of working within a street lighting environment (although this is not essential as training can be given on street lighting specifics), along with experience in a customer-focused service, which values its residents, businesses, and communities.
Essential requirements are a full UK driving licence, electrical qualifications to Level 3 City and Guilds or equivalent apprenticeship, C&G 2391 Inspection and Testing or equivalent, LANTRA 1b MEWP (desirable) and G39 Certification (desirable).
