Hiring 2x Hardware Digital and Analogue Design Engineers
We are looking for a Principal / Senior level Hardware Engineer with digital and analogue experience.
A real hands on person in schematic capture and PCB design expertise.
Some FPGA and low level coding is desired.
Salary bandings:
- Senior – up to £65K (10 years +)
- Mid/Junior up to £45K (3 years +)
Main duties and key responsibilities:
- Hardware team member, working as part of a team to design hardware for company projects.
- Contribute to alternatives and feasibility studies.
- Formulate test plans and perform hardware verification testing.
- Provide hardware assistance to the software team during their development process.
Key Skills:
- Upper second-class BSc/BEng degree in field of electronic engineering
- Signal integrity and PCB design training
- A focus on embedded hardware design
- CPLD/FPGA knowledge
- Knowledge of digital principles
- Digital and analogue circuit design appreciation
- Understanding of certain laws: Shannon’s, Nyquist’s, etc
- Knowledge of RLC circuit characteristics and basic circuit theory
- Knowledge of transmission line theory
- Ability to work with a range of test equipment (Spectrum Analysers, DSOs etc)
Advantage if you have:
- EMC testing training
- Design experience with TI or NXP DSPs and Xilinx FPGAs
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools and methods.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly practices
- Appreciation of RF theory, with a willingness to learn more.
- Root cause analysis and analytical skills
- Presentation skills
- Embedded programming ability in C
- Scripting in Python
- Use of source control tools such as GIT
- Use JIRA bug tracking tool or similar
