Electronics Diagnostic Engineer

Our Client in Solihull is currently looking to add to their team of electronics repair technicians and they are looking for people to start as soon as possible.

They have a modern purpose built repair centre and carry out component level repair for a variety of communications equipment. The devices are bespoke and are multi layer printed circuit boards.

The main functions of the Diagnostic Engineer are as follows:

• Use standard diagnostic equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes to fault find down to component level.
• Identify faults on a variety of PCB's both through hole and surface mount.
• Carry out effective removal of faulty components
• Replace faulty components with new ones.
• Use all heat and hot air equipment to carry out board level soldering.
• Identify other areas of fault on the PCB such as dry joints/broken tracks/etc.
• Be able to carry out repairs/replacements on a wide variety of components including complex components such as BGA components. 

We require experienced repair technicians who have recent experience within electronics and have the ability to repair and replace down to component level. You must be able to hand solder and it would be a distinct advantage if you could carry out diagnostics using equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters. Ideally you will have experience in repairing telecoms transmission equipment, multiplexers, data cards, routers, etc.

Ideally you will be able to start immediately or at short notice, although we can wait for the right candidate to work their notice period.
