Electronics Technician (Battery Storage Systems)

Location: Fully on-site at our workshop in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, ST6 4PB. You must have the ability to reliably commute, or plan to relocate before starting work.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.

Experience Level: Due to the nature of the role a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a similar role working with Electronics (PCB’s, fault finding, soldering etc) or relevant formal qualification is preferred.

Salary: £30,000k - £35,000k pa depending on experience and qualification level (plus performance bonus scheme).

Our electrical laboratory is one of the major hubs of our operation. Just like magic – faults go in, fixes come out, tests are completed to perfection and each bit of kit leaves like brand new.

Due to changes in internal process, we’re looking for an Electronics Technician to oversee our lab in a standalone role. This role will perform quick assessments of our returned products to determine the level of repair required, with the simpler fixes remaining in the UK to be repaired, and more complex issues returning to our factory for more in depth diagnosis and restoration.

Reporting into our Technical Director, this is a great opportunity for an Electrically minded applicant to join a progressive, local and rapidly expanding Company (with 500% growth last year!). As we grow, our product selection expands, and our existing products update. To continue with our upward trajectory in this field, we’re looking for an Electronics Technician with testing and PCB fault finding experience to own the process.

What you’ll be doing:

No two days will look the same in this role, but generally, you can expect a mix of the below accountabilities:

• Evaluation of repairs and various electronic equipment
• Dismantling and assessment of repairs
• Testing and performing simple repairs
• Replacing PCB’s
• Low/High Voltage Testing
• AC/DC drive circuits

What we’re looking for:

An understanding and competence in:

• Boost/Buck circuits
• Magnetic components, IGBTs, MOSFETs, Capacitors
• Sampling circuits and driving circuits
• Test equipment such as Oscilloscope, multi meter
• Ability to confidently read and understand Schematics/Circuit Diagrams
• Soldering at PCB level
• A current understanding, experience or passion to work in the renewable energy sector would be preferred
