Role: Electronics TechnicianLocation: Southampton (% onsite role)Benefits: The company has contributory pension scheme and a health scheme. Both positions would be based at our office, no WFH considered.We are a small engineering team of 3 people that are looking to expand in .We are a financially strong company with a strong order book through to and several very interesting development opportunities so certainly for an engineer there is scope to learn and input new ideas.We supply MoD and need to visit sites where this will be needed. Be good if the tech candidates had this as well but not as essential.The role majors around small-scale manufacture of mechanical and electronic assemblies, preparing them for test and to carry out testing according to work instructions and guidance from engineers and experienced technicians.Training and or experience should encompass:Good soldering ability using SMT and leaded devicesAble to follow wiring diagrams and crimp/solder parts accordinglyUse of electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, DVMs etcAbility to read and follow circuit diagrams and pcb layoutsBasic IT skills covering Word and ExcelTo carry out testing of components and systems to a test plan and log resultsCarry out some basic mechanical fabrication and/or modificationsTraining on the specific tasks would be given with full explanation of the tasks, as to why and what was to be achieved.
