This is an exciting opportunity for someone with excellent communication and administrative skills to join the Emergency Planning Team at Bradford Council. The post holder will assist in the provision of clerical, administrative and financial support within the Emergency Management team aimed at developing and implementing standards, policies and projects. You’ll be required to organise diaries and appointments, arrange meetings, taking, writing up and circulating minutes and agendas and assisting with the arrangements of events / training for both Emergency Planning and Safety Advisory Group. (SAG)
The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the Council’s Emergency Management Plans, and associated plans and systems and to assist the Emergency Planning Manager and the team with other areas of work as needed to be able to carry out the Council’s duties under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, including Business Continuity and Protect and Prepare Duty.
To be part of the team that responds to emergency situations during normal office hours and also on occasions being a member of the team that responds to incident and event situations that maybe out of normal office hours. In the absence of the manager the post holder is expected to liaise with other colleagues to ensure continuation of essential services.
You will be required to work evening and weekends as well as responding to emergencies outside of normal working hours.
