Emerging Technology Lawyer
London
As a Barclays Emerging Technology Lawyer you will provide dedicated SME assistance to Barclays Group on legal risks pertaining to the use of Emerging Technology by the bank, its third-party suppliers, customer and clients. The Emerging Technology disciplines include Artificial Intelligence, Digital Assets, Distributed Ledger Technologies and Quantum Computing.

What will you be doing?
• Providing legal advice and risk management assistance on Barclays' obligations under AI, Digital Assets and internet related laws, rules, and regulations (LRRs) globally
• Assisting with the design and implementation of policies and procedures for responsible adoption and use of emerging technologies
• Designing and delivering training to Barclays Legal function via its Emerging Technology Academy and helping with the development of support bank-wide training on AI
• Coordinating Barclays Digital Assets and AI Legal Working Groups, providing cross-functional assistance on emerging tech issues, including review of generative AI use cases
• Advising on third- and fourth-party risks arising from use of emerging technologies (including generative AI), in the supply chain
• Overseeing Emerging Legal Risk and reporting to LexCo, ExCo and Board Risk Committees
• Having opportunities to work on related IP legal and cybersecurity issues
What we're looking for:
• Qualified lawyer with in-house experience at a tech-led business, or law-firm experience
• Experience and/or interest in emerging technologies
• Background in a relevant area of law, such as IP, data privacy, cyber security, financial ser-vices, Cloud or TMT
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Experience interpreting and advising on AI, Digital Assets or other technology aligned LRRs as applied to a control environment
• Experience negotiating with AI/software vendors
• Experience working in cross-functional teams on build out and deployment of governance programmes

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as: a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
