The Pensions team forms part of the HR Operations Service in HROD & T that sits within the Corporate Services Directorate.
This is part of the Council's back-office support function for Employee Services which provides support for the following functions: Payroll, Pensions, Transactional HR activity, Agency Client, Resourcing, Organisational Management and Compliance.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of our service as an Employee Officer. The successful candidate will work with the Team Manager to support the Pensions Team in delivering a first-rate service to our employees and pension scheme members.
The role will involve liaising with pension scheme administrators and external organisations, providing support to employees, managers, and other teams within the HROD&T Service to ensure that we are working within pension regulations and meeting our statutory obligations as an employer.

We are looking for an Employee Officer with an in-depth knowledge of the Local Government, Teachers and ideally NHS Pension schemes that will enable you to deal with queries from members and managers.

We are looking for a motivated individual who will contribute to the delivery of our targets. working with your team and the wider service to improve the customer experience

ICT Skills are essential. You will have experience of managing multiple processes in various systems, solving problems and making sound decisions, with excellent interpersonal and team working skills.
You must have excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt your style to different audiences and situations.
As an Employee officer in the Pension team, you will support the team manager to continually improve our services and performance.
You will be self-motivated and use personal drive to get results within expected timescales.
You will have excellent administrative skills, as well as being able to plan and organise yourself and your workload.
You will embrace and demonstrate the Our Manchester Behaviours.
You will be required to study towards a relevant apprenticeship standard or already hold an equivalent qualification.
