Job description

My client is seeking a Temporary ER Advisor who will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on Employee Relations (ER) matters within the organisation. This position plays a critical role in supporting the Human Resources department and management team in maintaining positive Employee Relations and ensuring compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.

The Temporary ER Advisor will handle a variety of Employee Relations issues, including disciplinary actions, grievances, performance management, and investigations.

This is a temporary role that will provide support during a specific project or peak workload period.

You must be able to commute to Salisbury, Wiltshire Daily. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice and guidance to managers and employees on Employee Relations matters, including disciplinary procedures, grievances, performance management, and policy interpretation.
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints, allegations of misconduct, or policy violations, ensuring thoroughness, confidentiality, and adherence to legal and company policies.
  • Advise and support managers in handling complex Employee Relations cases, providing recommendations for appropriate actions and interventions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Participate in the creation and delivery of training programs to enhance the understanding of Employee Relations processes, policies, and best practices among managers and employees.
  • Stay updated on relevant employment laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure accurate and current advice is provided.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as HR Business Partners, Legal, and Compliance, to address Employee Relations issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential Employee Relations records, documentation, and case files.
  • Identify trends or patterns in Employee Relations issues and provide insights and recommendations to enhance employee engagement and mitigate risks.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes, policies, and programs, suggesting enhancements or modifications based on feedback and experience.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources (Minimum CIPD Level 5).
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices related to Employee Relations.
  • Proven experience in conducting employee investigations and handling complex Employee Relations cases.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive information, and exercise discretion.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and MS Office Suite.
