It's a great time to join Screwfix. Thanks to the hard work of our team and record-breaking sales, we're proud to be one of the fastest-growing retailers in the UK. And we want to pass that growth on to you.

As Employee Relations Advisor joining a fantastic supportive team of 13 teammates, you'll provide our customers with relevant advice and coaching to support all ER-related issues; you'll act as a dedicated support network to all Managers. We believe a hybrid, flexible working approach offers you – and your colleagues – the best of both worlds. Face-to-face collaboration is an integral part of our warm, friendly culture, so you'll work from our head office three days a week. Beyond that, how, when, and where you work is up to you. With a subsidised canteen, free parking and a comfortable, relaxed environment, we've worked hard to build an office you'll want to work in.

Required skills & experience

  • This position would suit an ER specialist, HR generalist or Operational Manager with significant ER experience looking to move to a specialist Employee Relations role.
  • Considerable hands-on experience in dealing with ER cases is essential to offer the level of support and expertise required.
  • The role requires the ability to rapidly build rapport and trust and establish relationships with our internal customers via telephone contact and email, along with resilience to deal with challenging situations.
  • Working knowledge of employment law is essential, as is a common sense and pragmatic approach to dealing with cases.
