We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations and People Advisory Manager to lead the People Advisory team at the University. Join us in making a difference at our University, as part of the People, Culture and Wellbeing Directorate.
Reporting into the Head of People Business Partnering, you will lead and develop the People Advisory team to provide a high-quality people-centric and compliant advisory service to University managers and leaders, which aligns with our strategic direction, culture, and values.
You will also lead on the cyclical review of our people policies, contributing to the development, implementation, and enhancement of policies and processes that align with our core values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Relations Service Delivery: Oversee the provision of an effective and holistic day-to-day Employee Relations service to Faculties/Directorates, leading and developing a team who deal with a high volume of varied casework, with a focus on informal resolution and managing risk.
- Policy Review and Engagement: Lead on a cyclical review of People policies, engaging with key stakeholders to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
- Legislation Monitoring: Stay ahead of UK legislation changes, liaising with appropriate policy leads to ensure that People policies, procedures, and guidance are compliant, effectively implemented, and communicated.
- People Practices: As a member of the University People and Culture team, contribute to the development and delivery of innovative people practices and strategies.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Significant experience in a similar role in a large complex organisation
- Experience of effectively leading and managing a high performing hybrid team, who manage a high and complex caseload
- In-depth knowledge UK employment legislation.
- Experience of leading on policy development and implementation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities effectively.
- A commitment to upholding and promoting equity, diversity and inclusion in all practice.
