Employer Brand Manager: Student Engagement – UK&I – Talent Attraction and Acquisition

Level 3 – Assistant Director (Manager)

Hybrid working and some campus visits

UK wide

At EY, you’ll have the chance to build a career as unique as you are, with the global scale, support, inclusive culture and technology to become the best version of you. And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too.

Our award-winning team is on a mission to build a better working world and we are responsible for leading the consistent design and delivery of communication campaigns to help inform and attract the best and most diverse talent into our growing business. The Apprentices and Graduates we hire each year are the future leaders of EY – so this role is crucial for the health of the business and the happiness of the students we connect with.

The opportunity
This is a hands-on role reporting to the Head of Employer Brand, leading on key campaigns to support our student engagement and attraction strategy during an exciting period of change and growth. You’ll be empowered to create proactive relationships with key stakeholders in the business and develop market-moving activations across all programmes and service lines. The role is wide ranging, but you’ll have a particular focus on creating a consistent narrative around EY for students at all stages of their journey, and attracting a more diverse talent pool to EY. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team with a reputation for creating innovative campaigns and market-leading communications in the Employer Branding space.

Your key responsibilities

  • Build relationships with key stakeholders across Student Recruitment, Talent, Global Employer Brand and our UK Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) function to align Employer Branding and marketing campaigns to key communications initiatives and hiring needs across the business
  • Set the strategic direction for the relationship EY wants to build with a range of student and influencer populations, including teachers and parents
  • Own the reporting and measurement of the Student engagement and attraction strategy, understanding key business drivers and the role of student hiring within the context of our overall business objectives
  • Lead the design, development, and execution of recruitment marketing activities across all service lines and locations in the business.
  • Drive innovation and creativity within the Student Recruitment team, sharing best practice with the wider business on audience mindset, messaging and creative
  • Own the day-to-day relationship with our creative agencies and other partners to maximise value and ensure all agreed deliverables are met
  • Oversee the budget for student activity – from planning to spend tracking and reporting
  • Work with the wider Employer Brand and Talent teams to ensure an understanding of how marketing efforts affect the application pipeline and identify where interventions might be needed
  • Proactively scan the market to understand the latest trends in student motivations and the Employer Branding space, with an eye on new campaigns, channels, and initiatives across the market

Skills and attributes for success

  • Project management skills – ability to plan and manage time and activity effectively. You will have experience of working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Relationship building skills – ability to build productive and proactive relationships with a range of colleagues and stakeholders. You will be an active listener - but able to express your opinion when relevant.
  • Leadership skills – experience of managing a team, leading on campaigns and owning a budget. You will be able to bring out the best in others, motivating and providing guidance to more junior colleagues in the team.
  • Commercial awareness – you will have experience measuring complex business goals and deliverables – regularly reporting on these to teams and stakeholders.
  • Resilience – you will be able to work under pressure in a complex business, to respond to change and to lead others through change

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Previous experience working in the Employer Branding space with a passion for the field
  • An advanced understanding of different student audiences, the factors that influence them and best practice for engaging with them
  • Previous experience leading a team or leading through others

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Previous experience working in a professional services environment
