Mechanical Design Engineer

Jonathan Lee Recruitment is looking for a skilled and collaborative Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's thriving team in Stockport. This full-time Mechanical Design Engineering role offers a salary of £52,000 and excellent benefits.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the delivery of engineering projects on time and on cost. You'll ensure technical performance standards are maintained and deliver mechanical system designs that meet customer specifications and regulatory needs.

During your first few weeks in this Mechanical Design Engineer role, you can expect to take on some of the following:

• Develop design solutions working in conjunction with designers within the team
• Check drawings
• Prepare technical documents such as specifications, reports, manuals, procedures, etc
• Undertake hardware development and testing
• Compile technical documents and test specifications

To apply for this Mechanical Design Engineer position, your soft skills, expertise, and experience should include:

• Qualified to a degree level in a relevant engineering subject
• Proven experience in the design, testing, and development of mechanical systems with medium and heavy engineering
• An understanding of the behaviour of large welded and bolted mechanical structures
• Experience working with 3D CAD, Solid Edge, SolidWorks
• Ability to conduct FMEA and stress analysis tests
• Experience in the design of systems from original concept design through to production in a lead role
