Engagement and Communication Officer

Reed HR are representing a mutual company that aims to redefine mutuality in Dudley. Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum

Location: Dudley

Hours: 37 hours per week (hybrid working, 3 days in the office)

Your Purpose

As an Engagement and Communication Officer, you will focus on developing the culture of two-way, open communication channels and achieving greater engagement, whilst giving the people a sense of belonging.

You will:

  • Manage the communications platform, utilising all media platforms available to communicate messages to the employees.
  • Support with promoting the employer brand externally, letting prospective employees know why the company is such a great place to work.
  • Champion employee engagement and act as an ambassador for the company.
  • Suggest and help implement bold initiatives and methods to continually improve the employee journey.
  • Lead, manage and implement an engagement calendar to ensure all activities enable people to feel a sense of belonging and have a lot of fun across the year!
  • Partner with key stakeholders around the company, ensuring that strategic messages are received and embedded.
  • Drive the agenda in the ‘We Belong’ group – supporting diversity and inclusion within the Society. Ensuring policies and practices are underpinned by fairness, inclusivity, and equality for all.
  • Support the Head of Talent Development with organising, administering and engaging employees in learning and development activities.
  • Work closely with the Customer Experience Team, you will be organising and encouraging our teams to support the local communities around our offices through volunteering, fundraising and supporting local initiatives to help achieve the strategic vision of redefining mutuality in Dudley.
  • Support the Customer Experience team to create and update business material in a way which is accessible for a wider internal audience.

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Creativity and innovation
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise tasks.
  • Ability to adapt to change and provide constructive feedback.
  • Knowledge of relevant HR legislation and regulations.
  • A demonstrable passion towards delivering great experiences for the customer.
