Employment Solicitor

My client is a top 100 UK law firm who are seeking an ambitious and talented Associate to join their dynamic Employment team at their office in Bath or Thames Valley.

The Role: 
As a Solicitor in their Employment Team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality legal advice to clients in a commercially astute manner while maintaining an unwavering commitment to outstanding client service. 
Responsibilities: 

• Case Management: Manage a caseload of files under supervision, dealing effectively with cases and transactions.
• Client Interaction: Directly engage with clients to take instructions, ensuring a full understanding to meet and exceed client expectations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with partners and senior lawyers to develop client relationship skills and actively develop relationships with smaller clients.
• Business Development: Assist in marketing the department’s services, actively participating in business development activities to enhance the firm and team’s reputation.
• Legal Expertise: Provide legal advice on day-to-day employment matters, including managing disciplinaries and grievances, performance and absences, drafting contracts of employment, settlement agreements, TUPE transfer, and employment tribunal claims.
• Personal Development: Research and draft articles, contribute to marketing materials, and actively participate in networking events to build a network of clients, contacts, and potential referreals. 

The Candidate: 

• Qualified Solicitor NQ-3PQE
• Previous experience within an Employment team (at least 1 seat if an NQ)
• Ability to manage own files with minimal supervision
• Strong client management skills with a focus on delivering excellent client service
• Organized and able to effectively prioritize
• Proactive approach to business development and marketing
• Research and drafting skills for articles and marketing materials
• Time management, WIP monitoring, and billing proficiency
• Enthusiastic, motivated, and flexible
