Employment Solicitor - 1-4 PQE - Birmingham
Leading national law firm is seeking an Employment Solicitor to join its team in Birmingham to focus predominantly on Employment Tribunal litigation in the healthcare sector (sector experience not essential). This Employment Solicitor opportunity is offered on a full time permanent basis with flexible working options including part-time hours considered. 50/50 hybrid working as standard. The Role
As an Employment Solicitor in this specialist healthcare team, you would:
- Be responsible for advising and assisting clients in connection with largely contentious work with some non-contentious employment matters.
- Prepare for employment tribunal cases, including preparation of Claim/Response, Employment Tribunal Applications, List of Issues, Witness Statements, Skeleton Arguments, and drafting approval applications for settlement of cases.
- Undertake advocacy in employment tribunals to include Case Management Hearings and Preliminary Hearings.
- Draft and advise on contracts, policies, and procedures.
- Provide general advice on matters ranging from disciplinary investigations and grievance procedures through to redundancy programmes and queries on flexible working, maternity rights, paternity rights and so on.
- Contribute towards business development through marketing initiatives, involvement in seminars, training, contributing to the upkeep of precedents and drafting employment bulletins.
- Potentially undertake some corporate support work to include advising on TUPE in connection with transactions.
About You
To be successful in your application for this Employment Solicitor vacancy, you will have:
- 1-4 years' PQE in employment law. Health sector experience is helpful but by no means essential.
- Good training and post qualification experience from a reputable firm and a desire to work predominantly on contentious employment matters.
- An interest in the healthcare sector.
- A strong academic background.
- A good teamwork ethic.
