Job description

We are looking for a driven leader, with proven experience in the trades to join our Home Solutions team as Empty Homes Supervisor.

As Empty Homes Supervisor you will deliver a safe, efficient, and competent supervision of all issues relating to staffing and Housing Maintenance, as well as managing a directly employed multi skilled in-house team and specialist contractors. You must have the ability and drive to plan and deliver a rolling works programme, safely and efficiently in line with timescales, budgets and within statutory regulations.

Responsible for:

  • Oversee the necessary day-to-day line management responsibilities for the Lead Hand and the direct trades team in charge of delivering our Empty Homes service.
  • Complete precise specifications for renovation work and communicate with utility vendors to update and address problems with utility metres.
  • Outline the team's training and development needs in relation to the company's goals.
  • Use framework contracts to give instructions to specialised contractors for effective work delivery.
  • Manage apprentices, monitor their development at work and at college, and support their progression towards earning their qualifications.
  • Ensure that all work is done in line with all applicable safety laws and regulations, such as the Construction, Design, and Management Regulations and the Health & Safety at Work Act.
  • Ensure finishing tasks are on schedule and within budget to satisfy targets and KPIs.
  • Coordinate with administrators when scheduling the task in the trades team's calendar to maximise performance.

Must have:

  • A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle to work effectively.
  • Minimum of a NVQ level 4 Site Management, City & Guilds qualification, or equivalent experience within the construction industry.
  • Professional qualification or membership with CIOB/RICS/NICIEC/Gas Safe.
  • Be a health and safety qualification or CSCS site Managers card holder.

  • £ 42,070 annual base salary
  • Permanent, Full time Contract
