Endoscopy Technician London, The Princess Grace HospitalPermanent, Full Time, 37.5 Hrs Per week, Monday - Friday

Salary: £25,837-£28,708 per annum dependent on experience

We’re looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Endoscopy team at The Princess Grace Hospital, Currently rated "Good" by the CQC.

Situated in the heart of London's world-renowned medical district, The Princess Grace Hospital is recognised as one of the best-equipped multidisciplinary private hospitals in the capital. Our dedicated and highly trained team is committed to delivering an exemplary standard of clinical care across all specialties.  

  

The Princess Grace Hospital has 127 registered beds, including 90 inpatient, 21 day case, 8 endoscopy, an urgent care unit and a Level 3 intensive care unit containing 9 beds, with 24-hour consultant cover and a high dependency unit.   

The hospital also has a several specialised centres, including; The London Breast Institute, recognised as one of the best private breast screening and diagnostic treatment centres in the UK; the London Digestive Centre, a highly specialised outpatient facility offering diagnoses and treatments for all conditions of the stomach, small and large intestines, liver, pancreas, and bile ducts; and The Institute of Sport Exercise and Health, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to sport and exercise medicine.  

 

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be responsible for providing skilled clinical assistance to the nursing and medical teams. The successful candidate will participate in the assessment of patient care needs and implement and maintain the agreed standards of care.
 

Further assisting with both patient and non-patient manual handling, cleaning duties and waste disposal, re-stocking and ensuring the ward is tidy.
 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manual cleaning of all endoscopes and associated accessories following current guidelines
  • Disinfecting endoscopes using auto-disinfector
  • Documenting all daily maintenance of all machines and equipment
  • Ensure tracking of each endoscope is up to date and correct for each patient
  • Cleaning and high level disinfection of all endoscopes
  • Cleaning and maintenance of all drying/storage cabinets
  • Ensure that the right scopes are cleaned for each procedure list and there is adequate supply to ensure that the lists run efficiently
  • Assist with the organizing of general and periodic service contracts and action accordingly
  • Daily equipment checks to adhere to health and safety regulations, and organizing the repair of all defects to be dealt with promptly.

What you’ll bring:

  •   Working knowledge of sterile services procedures is essential
  •   Decontamination qualification is desirable
