Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE

Working as part of a growing ESG team this role requires you to ensure our employees, clients and properties are operating in the most environmentally and socially responsible way possible, which is more than just our legal obligation.

Reporting directly to the ESG Director and Head of ESG Refurbishment and Development, the role will require you to take the lead on our auditing and reporting procedures, advising clients on energy efficiency opportunities to feed directly into Net Zero reporting and targets. Based on your industry expertise the key focus will be on identifying ways to reduce operational energy and carbon through identifying both issues and opportunities in the running of plant and systems throughout both the Landlord and tenant managed areas of buildings.

The role will work closely with the wider ESG team to deliver recommendations and initial reporting within a Net Zero framework.

WHAT MATTERS MOST IN THIS ROLE

Supporting the ESG team to develop customised reporting methods to meet client requirements and industry trends is paramount to the role. You should have the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients and the appetite to go above and beyond for them.

Team collaboration and knowledge sharing with project teams to identify appropriate data and develop appropriate solutions is also crucial.

You should have experience collecting, analysing, formulating and reporting data to clients. Using a variety of data management systems, will help to obtain and analyse results of historic and current energy performance and target energy performance against benchmarks such as REEB. You should then be able to identify opportunities and performance gaps along with the client.

Other duties will include:

  • Undertaking and compiling reports in respect of energy efficiency and decarbonisation audits across a range of property types to approved standards and for legislative reporting such as ESOS.
  • Identifying operational issues and reduction strategies. Providing an oversight of the implementation of low net carbon solutions.
  • Providing insights to the wider business regarding changes in the energy and environmental regulatory framework. Report assessment results and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Conduct the required energy surveys of buildings.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

It is essential for you to have the experience in creating decarbonisation plans for buildings, preferably commercial property portfolios.

Proven experience in an Auditor position ideally from either an electrical or heating background in the property industry.

A proactive approach to an organised work schedule. You should have the ability to prioritise work projects, manage multiple projects simultaneously and demonstrate effect problem solving skills.

The properties are located nationwide, so UK travel may be necessary from time to time. A full UK driving licence is required.

Detailed understanding of HVAC systems and building physics

Familiarity with Whole Life Carbon assessment principles and practice and building performance elements of BREEAM is preferred.

WHY WORKMAN?

  • Hybrid working to offer you a great work life balance, with a minimum of three days in the office.
  • A full-time contract (35 hours a week) offers the core hours of 10am – 4pm, allowing additional flexibility to what time you can start work.
  • Discretionary annual bonus and salary reviews.
