Engineering Manager

£53,000 plus BUPA cover for yourself/partner and children up to the age of 18, Life Insurance after 6 months of employment and 10% pension
Hours of work: 8.30am – 4.30pm – Monday to Friday
37 days holiday per year – Jan – Dec (Flexible)

The role
Reporting to the Engineering Director, the Engineering Department Manager will be pro-active and have a strong sense of safety awareness and be able to lead and manage the engineering teams within mechanical, electrical and utility departments providing guidance, mentoring and support at all times. You will assist in developing and executing an engineering strategy in alignment with business objectives, focusing on efficiency, quality, capability and cost-effectiveness. You will oversee the planning and execution of engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget along with implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. You will consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities and understand compliance with 14001. You will ensure all Engineering teams deliver a safe operating environment while making sure work is carried out in accordance with legislative requirements, HSE, quality and company procedures.
Key requirements are
HNC/HND or degree with an applicable engineering field
Proven experience of leading engineering teams within the Manufacturing Industry coupled with excellent team building skills
Strong knowledge of safety regulations and ISO 14001
Able to communicate effectively (verbal & written) both internally and externally at all levels
Resilient with the ability to thrive within a fast paced and high pressure role
Self motivated, with the ability to work proactively using own initiative
Computer literate
