I seek a dynamic manager with a solid technical background and a proven track record in leadership within high-growth tech environments. This role is perfect for someone who has excelled in a senior or leadership role but is passionate about rolling up their sleeves to build something groundbreaking from the ground up as our first management hire. You will be instrumental in nurturing our engineering and product development teams, ensuring they are poised for innovation and excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and scale our engineering and product development teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
- Drive clarity and alignment across teams, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
- Participate in technical discussions and decision-making processes, maintaining a balance between leadership and technical involvement.
- Implement strategies for effective team growth and development, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
- Work closely with the CTO and other senior leaders to align engineering strategies with company objectives.
- Encourage a healthy balance of leadership and technical contribution among team members, promoting independence and ownership.
- Champion our company culture, ensuring it evolves with the team while maintaining alignment with our core values and mission.
Requirements:
- Significant experience in technical leadership roles, ideally having managed both individual contributors and other managers.
- A background in software engineering, with a willingness to engage in technical discussions and a coding interview.
- Proven experience in startup environments, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to thrive amidst change and rapid growth.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of motivating and leading teams towards achieving their best.
- A strategic thinker, able to balance immediate needs with long-term vision.
- Previous startup experience and a demonstrated ability to build and scale teams in fast-paced environments.
- An enthusiastic approach to challenges, displaying a mindset geared towards growth and learning.
