Job Title: Engineering Manager- Systems & Software
Salary: up to £72,000 per annum dependent on experience
Location: Bristol or Barrow in Furness (hybrid)
We currently have a vacancy to join one of the world’s leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as an Engineering Manager- Systems & Software. The role will be based in New Malden (preference) but both Frimley and Portsmouth will also be considered and offers hybrid working as well as flexible working hours- individual circumstances will be discussed.

Working in the Combat Systems Delivery team, you will lead the overall engineering management of the design, development, integration and test activities of teams working on deployment of a software, systems and hardware solution. This delivery focused role involves leading the team through the design and manufacture phase, through all lifecycle phases.
This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in the whole lifecycle of projects that will run on our Royal Navy platforms with real-world use and to play a key part in technologically advanced solutions.
Main Responsibilities:
- Engineering Management of solution – Hardware, Software and Systems aspects
- Acting as the conduit to resolve technical issues across the teams
- Driving delivery of Engineering-led deliverables
- Driving adherence to Engineering Governance and Process
- Liaising with the Product Teams to ensure adherence and cross-project benefits where possible
- Technical reviews of Engineering material as required
- Production and maintenance of Management Plans

About You:
Essential:
- Ability to operate in a large, complex multi-project environment
- Experience of delivering systems and software solutions on a significant scale
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience, likely to be in a technology, engineering, science or IT related discipline
- Understanding of multiple aspects and areas – Software, Systems, Hardware, Integration
- Solid understanding of the Engineering Lifecycle
Desirable:
- Experience in engineering or a defence or related industry
- Experience within a Naval Combat Systems Development Environment across multiple lifecycle phases
- Understanding of what is required to deliver Combat Systems equipment and capability to sea
You must be eligible to apply for SC clearance and, therefore, must hold a British passport and have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years
