The Power Conversion Rotating Machines Rugby Engineering Team is responsible for the design and engineering of motors and generators to deliver optimised system solutions in line with the requirements of the wider GEPC business units such as Renewables, Industry, Marine and Naval.
Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Engineering Quality specialist is a pivotal role in the team responsible for driving significant improvement in operational processes and drive productivity and quality in all our deliverables.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
  • Define, analyse, and drive the key performance metrics for the engineering organisation to achieve continuous improvements in their deliverables.
  • Drive engagement with the cross functional teams to develop processes, procedures and initiatives that allow seamless handoffs from engineering.
  • Lead root cause analysis using best in class quality tools to address engineering issues ensuring preventive actions are formally implemented; measured by zero reoccurrence.
  • Define and lead Kaizen activities for process improvements.
  • Able to lead teams in analysing data and acting as a change agent for new initiative implementation.
  • Able to communicate effectively to both internal and external customers.
This is not an extensive list. The role will evolve to incorporate other tasks according to the businesses requirement.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Degree qualified in engineering or quality
  • Significant experience in a quality engineering role
  • Significant experience in 8D, 5Ys etc tools.
  • Knowledge of rotating machinery would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Knowledge of SAP is an advantage but not essential.
  • Knowledge of Teamcenter PLM system is an advantage
