Ferrybridge Workshops Ltd was established over 40 years ago as a mechanical engineering service provider to the power industry. This facility is now available to undertake sub-contract machinery and fabrication services to the UK and European market.
Position:
We are seeking an Engineering Sales Estimator to join our team at our new Ferrybridge Workshops site near Knottingley, which we recently acquired. The role holder will be required to execute/adopt successful processes relating to all sales estimation.
Required skills:
- strong background in mechanical engineering
- ability to understand & interpret engineering drawings
- attention to detail.
- high level of computer & IT skills. Proficient in Excel & Word.
- communication & customer service skills
- self-motivated and a good team member
- previous experience in a CNC machining subcontract company would be advantageous
The role:
- Review all enquiries sent to the sales mailbox and upload onto estimating system.
- Prepare each enquiry with relevant drawings & part documentation pack
- Obtain required raw material & subcontract process prices
- Produce quotation documents & costing spreadsheets
- Evaluate customer requirements for machined & fabricated parts
- Liaise with customers to confirm technical specifications where required
- Estimate manufacturing costs & review with production team as required
- Review previous projects on enquiries for repeat parts
- Working with the sales engineer and management team to complete contract review
- Produce and submit quotations to customers
- Progress submitted quotations to obtain client feedback & prepare win/loss KPIs
- Professionally interact with our customers either through email, telephone or site visits with our Sales Engineer to further client satisfaction & increase sales opportunities.
Candidate:
- Proven background in mechanical engineering role.
- The post holder will need to be flexible, self-motivated and be able to demonstrate clear and effective verbal and written skills, able to communicate professionally at all levels, both within the business and externally.
- Good ability to understand engineering concepts, manufacturing methods and drawings.
- Fully IT literate, with proven experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and Project to a high level is essential.
- Attention to detail with a “can do” attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet set goals and deadlines.- Analyse project specifications and blueprints to determine the scope of work and materials required.
- Full UK car driving licence with no serious convictions/penalties.
