The Shift Engineering Team Leader will oversee up to 2 Engineers per shift and work with various site teams to implement robust solutions, reducing downtime through breakdown and assessing business priorities. This is a safety critical site and work is completed to the highest standards.
Core duties include:
- Management and control of the day to day activities of the shift engineers
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of shift logs and CMMS work orders
- Provide timely and proactive communication of work status, escalation and updates to the right people at the right time
- Effectively manage and develop the shift engineering services and ensure accurate timekeeping and holiday rotation maintained ensuring, service is not negatively affected
- Promote, develop and sustain problem solving techniques across the shift engineering team
- Carry out reactive tasks across the site, supporting all areas of the site and ensure appropriate follow up
- Participate in planned maintenance activities during equipment shutdowns, and effectively monitor downtime information and identify areas for improvement and corrective actions
- HNC (or Nationally recognised equivalent) Mechanical or Electrical qualification
- Nationally recognised apprenticeship
- IOSH managing safely
- Ideally BS7671 18th Edition
- Hydraulic, Pneumatic/Controls experience
- Confined space training
- Practical experience of working as an engineer in a manufacturing, chemical or process environment with a proven track record of maintenance service delivery
- Strong people management skills and ability to integrate differing functional demands
- Competent role model with coaching, monitoring and excellent training skills
