Our client is a leading facilities management company specialising in the maintenance and management of commercial buildings across Central London. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering Supervisor to join our team and oversee maintenance operations across multiple sites.
Position Overview: As an Engineering Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and ensuring the effective maintenance of commercial buildings throughout Central London. This role is mobile, requiring regular travel between approximately 25 sites within the city. The successful candidate will be either mechanically or electrically qualified, with a strong understanding of British regulations related to building maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and supervise a team of engineers, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
* Coordinate and prioritise maintenance activities across multiple sites to ensure timely and efficient resolution of issues.
* Conduct regular inspections and audits to assess the condition of building systems and equipment, identifying any potential risks or areas for improvement.
* Respond promptly to emergency situations and service requests, coordinating with internal teams and external contractors as necessary.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and equipment documentation.
* Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations, ensuring that all work is conducted in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing any concerns or inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Mechanical or electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, HND) preferred.
* Proven experience managing a team of engineers in a facilities management or similar environment.
* Strong knowledge of English regulations governing building maintenance and health & safety.
* Experience maintaining commercial buildings, including HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and other mechanical equipment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
* Proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
* Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between sites within Central London.
